Environment Health and Safety
Alex Dajero: Alex Dajero, MBA, MA, CSP, CHMM, CFPS, CHS-IV, CSMP, CEAS I & II, COSS, CDP-I, REPA, serves as the Environmental, Health and Safety Professional for a Fortune 500 company and is a Cal/VPP Special Team Member (STM) (Level 3). Alex has over 23 years of experience in the EHS field. He is also an Associate Faculty Member at the University of Phoenix – San Diego Campus.
Tom Evans, MS, CHMM : Tom Evans is an experienced life sciences and laboratory operations professional with specialties in Environmental Health & Safety, Security, and Facilities Management. He has 16 years of industry experience and has been a part-time EHS instructor at Cuyamaca College since 2008.
David Ivester, MS: Students have stated that Mr. Ivester’s real-world experience from his nearly 35 years in the environmental health and safety profession is invaluable to their learning. A part-time instructor at Cuyamaca College since 1992, Ivester’s day job is as an environmental health and safety manager at Alere San Diego, a maker of medical diagnostics devices.
Justin Pinnell: Mr. Pinnell is a General Motors certified Master Technician with more than twenty-six years of experience in the automotive industry. He possesses thorough knowledge of rules and regulations pertaining to automotive diagnosis, repair and smog check services. He has maintained facilities and performed smog check services for 24 + years in compliance with laws and regulations. Mr. Pinnell is a BAR Certified Training Instructor and has been teaching SMOG update classes, as well as, Automotive Technology courses at Cuyamaca College since 2013.
Chris Branton: Chris Branton has been an instructor since 1983. He has 30 years of experience in automotive repair and management. Currently he teaches and chairs in the automotive technology department at Cuyamaca College. He is ASE Master Certified, and has been for 25 plus years. GM Master Certified for 10 years and coordinates the GM ASEP program. Chris is the chair for the ASEP Standards National Committee. He is a state certified smog instructor. He also the is educational board member of ASCCA local chapter 24.
Disability Services Program
Janice Melroy: Dr. Janice Melroy has been in the disability and employment field for more than 25 years. She has coordinated state and federally funded training and dissemination programs employing individuals with Developmental Disabilities, and taught Disability Services Management courses since 2004. Janice’s educational background includes: an A.S. degree in Disability Services Management from Grossmont College, a Bachelor’s degree in Vocational Education, Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling with emphasis on Rehabilitation Technology, and finally a Doctorate in Educational Leadership, with emphasis on Community College Leadership at San Diego State University. Her dissertation included research on the efficacy of Universal Design for Learning.
Erin Roberts: Ms. Roberts has worked for the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District since 2012, first as a Business Developer for Continuing Education, handling development, marketing and operations for all not-for-credit coursework, and later as Corporate Advancement Developer for the Corporate College, managing sales and account management for corporate training contracts as well as strategic planning and development for fee based courses. Erin holds a Bachelor’s Degree from University of Minnesota and brings several years of experience as a business owner to her work with the Corporate College’s business clients.
